How We Fund This Site

Tour USA is a free resource. To keep it that way, some pages contain affiliate links and display advertising. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Our Affiliate Programmes

Amazon Associates

Tour USA is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.

We participate in both the Amazon UK (Amazon.co.uk) and Amazon US (Amazon.com) programmes. UK-facing kit, food, and travel-prep links use Amazon UK. Pages about buying while you are in the United States use Amazon.com. Store IDs are applied automatically so a UK search is never tagged with a US associate ID, and vice versa.

When we recommend a book, product, or piece of equipment, we link to a search or listing on Amazon. If you purchase through that link, we earn a small percentage of the sale (typically 1–10% depending on the product category). The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or find the product yourself. Search links are not live price quotes.

Google AdSense

We display advertisements via Google AdSense. These ads are served by Google and may be personalised based on your browsing history (only with your cookie consent) or contextual to the page content. We earn revenue when ads are viewed or clicked.

Our Editorial Commitment

We want to be completely transparent about how affiliate links work on this site:

How to Identify Affiliate Links

On this site, affiliate links are identified in two ways:

  1. A disclosure notice at the bottom of every page that contains affiliate links.
  2. The text "(affiliate link)" next to prominent inline product recommendations.

Advertising Standards

We comply with the guidelines of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding affiliate marketing disclosure for UK audiences, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides for US audiences.
